  Los Angeles Staples Center

Staples Center is a sports arena in downtown Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment District. It is located near the intersection of Interstate highways I-10 and I-110. It is named for the Staples office-supply company, one of the center's corporate sponsors that paid for naming rights. The Anschutz Entertainment Group operates the facility.

Staples Center is the home arena for the following teams:

Avengers (AFL)
Clippers (NBA)
Lakers (NBA)
Kings (NHL)
Sparks (WNBA)
The center opened on October 17, 1999, and seats 18,997 for basketball, 18,118 for ice hockey, and 17,942 for arena football. Two-thirds of the arena's seating, including 2,500 club seats, are in the lower bowl, and there are three levels of luxury suites (160 in all, including 13 event suites) below the upper deck.

Between 2002 and 2005 the Staples Center was home of the WTA Tour Championships, held at the beginning of November. The Staples Center attendance record is held by WWE Wrestlemania 21 with a crowd of 20,193 on April 3, 2005. In addition to sporting events, Staples Center is also used as a venue for concerts (seating capacities 20,000 for center-stage shows and 19,500 for end-stage shows) and award shows, notably the Grammy Awards. Staples Center was the venue for the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Outside the arena are statues of Wayne Gretzky and Magic Johnson, although both Los Angeles sports legends played at the Great Western Forum.
